Job Summary

BARBRI is seeking a qualified Solicitor and/or Barrister of England and Wales to join our Learning Delivery Team as an SQE Tutor. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, coaching, and student support across BARBRI's SQE programmes and other legal education offerings. The SQE Tutor will work closely with students, law firms, universities, and internal stakeholders to help learners successfully navigate their studies and achieve examination success. The ideal candidate combines strong legal expertise with a passion for education, student development, and delivering an exceptional learning experience in both B2C and B2B environments.

Applicants must have the ongoing right to work in the United Kingdom without requiring current or future employer sponsorship. This position does not offer visa sponsorship, and temporary work authorization is not eligible.

Location: Remote, with some face-to-face teaching and travel required
Salary: £50,000 - £56,000

Job Responsibilities

· Deliver high-quality teaching, tutoring, coaching, and academic support across SQE and other BARBRI programmes

· Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, legal subject clinics, tutor calls, and one-to-one student support sessions

· Assess written and oral student work and provide timely, constructive feedback to support exam success

· Support and engage students throughout their learning journey, addressing questions, concerns, and escalations as appropriate

· Build strong relationships with students, law firms, corporate sponsors, universities, and other institutional partners

· Collaborate with Senior Tutors, Course Leads, Learning Coaches, and cross-functional teams to deliver an exceptional student experience

· Develop, review, and update course materials, assessments, multiple-choice questions, and learning resources to ensure content quality and relevance

· Utilize BARBRI's CRM, LMS, and other educational technology platforms to maintain accurate records, provide feedback, and track student progress

· Deliver webinars, presentations, law fair sessions, and other student-facing events in both virtual and in-person environments

· Contribute insights and recommendations that support continuous improvement of learning programmes, student outcomes, and operational processes

· Act as a BARBRI ambassador by demonstrating professionalism, supporting business objectives, and contributing to the success of the global Learning Delivery team

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

· Qualified Solicitor and/or Barrister of England and Wales

· Prior experience in legal education, academic support, teaching, tutoring, coaching, or professional skills development

· Strong technical legal knowledge across relevant practice areas

· Experience delivering instruction, support, or training in virtual and/or face-to-face environments

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines

· Demonstrated ability to build positive professional relationships with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Experience using technology effectively, including Microsoft Office applications, CRM systems, LMS platforms, and videoconferencing tools

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment

· Willingness to work flexibly to accommodate learners across varying schedules and time zones

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

· Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE), Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), or equivalent teaching qualification

· Experience supporting SQE candidates or legal professional qualification programmes

· Experience working with employer-sponsored (B2B) student cohorts

· Experience collaborating with law firms, corporate legal departments, universities, or educational institutions

· Familiarity with coaching methodologies, adult learning principles, and learner engagement strategies

· Experience reviewing or developing legal education content and assessments

· Knowledge of mental health and student wellbeing support frameworks

· Confidence using AI tools responsibly to support teaching, learning, content review, administrative efficiency, and data-informed decision making
