Position Overview
BARBRI’s Professional Education business is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth, with a focus on large law firms (Am Law 100). Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development, this individual contributor role is key to expanding our market presence and building strategic relationships with law firm leaders.
You will identify and convert high-potential opportunities through proactive prospecting, solution-oriented selling, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates will bring experience in B2B enterprise sales, ideally in legal services, continuing education, or professional training.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Execute targeted strategies to penetrate and grow accounts within the Am Law 100 segment.
- Drive net-new revenue through cold outreach, client discovery, solution alignment, and closing.
- Build executive relationships that lead to long-term, high-value engagements.
- Tailor pitches, proposals, and presentations that clearly communicate BARBRI’s differentiated value.
Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
- Generate and qualify leads via prospecting, marketing campaigns, events, referrals, and inbound activity.
- Manage and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities with clear stages, forecast accuracy, and CRM hygiene.
- Attend industry conferences, webinars, and forums to network and source potential clients.
Collaboration & Sales Execution
- Partner with internal teams—sales support, client success, marketing, product—to ensure a cohesive buyer experience and smooth post-sale transitions.
- Collaborate with the VP of New Business Sales on account strategy, pursuit planning, and key deal execution.
Insights & Reporting
- Track key metrics including outreach activity, pipeline velocity, conversion rates, and booked revenue.
- Share insights on market trends, buyer challenges, and competitive dynamics to inform sales strategy and product positioning.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–7 years of success in B2B sales, preferably with experience selling to law firms, professional services, or continuing education markets.
- Proven ability to independently source, develop, and close complex deals in competitive environments.
- Deep knowledge of the sales process, including prospecting, discovery, objection handling, and negotiating contracts.
- Experience with CRM tools and maintaining sales discipline through documentation and reporting.

Travel Requirements
Up to 20% travel for conferences, client meetings, and internal team events.
